International Violin Competition of Indianapolis receives Emmy nomination for documentary Good as Gold
Indianapolis – The International Violin Competition of Indianapolis (IVCI) received an Emmy nomination for the documentary done in collaboration with WFYI TV-20. The nomination, for the broadcast year 2007, came from the Lower Great Lakes Region of the National Academy of Television Arts and Science which includes the major markets of Indianapolis and Cleveland. The 39th Annual Emmy Awards Gala for this region will be held in the fall of 2008 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Entitled Good as Gold, the film by Emmy award-winning producer Todd Gould chronicles the 17 days of the 2006 Competition. It introduces viewers to the six finalists who duelled to become the Gold Medallist of this internationally acclaimed event and goes behind the scenes of America’s only international violin competition.
Indianapolis’ Eight Quadrennial Competition is stated for September 10 through 26, 2010.
International Violin Competition programs are provided with support form foundations, corporations, small business, individuals and government agencies including the Indiana Arts Commission, a state agency, the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, the Arts Council of Indianapolis and the City of Indianapolis.
