Simone Lamsma wlll make her debut with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra coming week performing the Britten Violin Concerto in 4 concerts at the Chicago Symphony Center from 5-8 June 2014 under Maestro Jaap van Zweden.
This week Simone will make her Cleveland Orchestra debut, replacing an indisposed Janine Jansen. Simone will perform Britten’s Violin Concerto under Maestro Vladimir Jurowski in concerts on 29 and 31 May at Severance Hall.
On 6 May from 4.30-6.00 Simone will be guest on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In Tune’ with Suzy Klein. She will talk and perform live in the studio. To listen live online please click here.
Hong Kong/China tour February 2014
From 20 February Simone will embark on a 3-week tour to Hong Kong and China. Coming week she will collaborate with the Baptist University Symphony Orchestra, culminating in a gala concert on 23 February at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre. After that, Simone be the soloist on the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra’s tour to China. She will perform Beethoven Violin Concerto with Jaap van Zweden in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Guangzhou.

China tour with Hong Kong Philharmonic
In March 2014 Simone will be embarking on a tour of China with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra under their chief conductor Jaap van Zweden. She’ll be performing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in Beijing, Shanghai, Xiamen and Guangzhou.

Opening concerts of the 13/14 season with Rotterdam Philharmonic September 2013
Coming week on 27, 28 and 29 September 2013 Simone will be returning to the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra to perform Martinu’s Second Violin Concerto under Jiří Bělohlávek.
Concerts will take place in de Doelen Rotterdam (27 and 29 September) and at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam (26 September). The concert in Amsterdam is part of the ‘ZaterdagMatinee’ concert series, where Simone is a frequent soloist, returning for the 5th time. Short notice concert with BBC Symphony in London 16 April 2013
On 19 April 2013 Simone will perform Beethoven Violin Concerto with the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Martyn Brabbins on only a few days notice, replacing the originally scheduled soloist. The concert will take place at 19.30 (UK time) at the Barbican in London and will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3.
Vienna debut March 2013
On 16 March 2013 Simone made her stunning debut at the Konzerthaus in Vienna. She performed Korngold’s Violin Concerto with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden.

Charity concert for Papageno Foundation December 2011
On 22 December Simone will perform during a special event for the Papageno Foundation, a Foundation set up by Aaltje and Jaap van Zweden which helps children with autism through specially developed programmes and therapies full of music.
The concert, of which all proceeds will go to the Papageno Foundation, is the launch of the broadening of the Foundation’s work in Friesland, in the north of the Netherlands, and will take place in ‘De Lawei’ in Drachten. As part of the concert with the Frisian Youth Orchestra, Simone will perform the first movement of Mozart’s 4th Violin Concerto under conductor Jaap van Zweden.

On Saturday 22 October Simone Lamsma gave, in the presence of the composer, the Dutch premiere of Sofia Gubaidulina’s Second Violin Concerto ‘In tempus praesens’ with the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under Reinbert de Leeuw. The concert took place during the prestigious ‘ZaterdagMatinee’ concert series at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and was part of a festival to celebrate Sofia Gubaidulina’s 80th birthday.
Simone had the honour of meeting and collaborating with Sofia Gubaidulina on the work, the composer attending both rehearsal and concert.
Sofia Gubaidulina’s ‘In tempus praesens’ was received with enormous enthusiasm from the audience.

Simone Lamsma becomes Associate of the Royal Academy of Music May 2011
Simone Lamsma has been appointed Associate of the Royal Academy of Music in London, and was awarded with an ARAM certificate on Monday 9 May 2011 during a special celebration. This honour is offered to past students of the Academy who have distinguished themselves in the music profession and made a significant contribution to their particular field.
Concert for HMH Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands Queens Day Concert 2011 12 April 2011
Simone has been invited to perform during this year’s Queens Day Concert at Palace Noordeinde in The Hague. Jaap van Zweden will conduct the Radio Chamber Orchestra with Simone Lamsma as a soloist. On the programme are two works: the famous Violin Concerto in E minor by Felix Mendelssohn Bartoldy and Stravinsky’s Pulcinella.
The concert will take place in the presence of HMH Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands to celebrate the Queen’s birthday, and will be broadcast on national Dutch Television on Queens Day 30 April 2011.
‘Golden Violin’ prize for Simone Lamsma 20 January 2011
On 27 January 2011, Simone will be awarded with the ‘Golden Violin’ Prize, a triennal prize given to a classical artist who has made outstanding contributions to the classical music scene of the Northern Netherlands. The prize will be officially awarded during a concert with the Northern Dutch Orchestra in Groningen, Netherlands, where Simone will be performing Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto. Like last Saturday evening in Groningen, the IJ-salon concert for next Saturday in Amsterdam will include works by Locatelli, Feldman and Spohr. Special guest Emanuel Ax will join in to play Dvořák’s Quintet with Simone and members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
Last Saturday, during a concert in the Oosterpoort in Groningen (Netherlands), Simone was awarded with the national Dutch VSCD Classical Music Prize in the category ‘New Generation Musicians’. The prize is awarded by Association of Dutch Theaters and Concert Halls to artists who have made remarkable and valuable contributions to the Dutch classical music scene.

Exactly 100 years since the premiere of the work on 10 November 1910, given by Fritz Kreisler, Simone will perform the Elgar Violin Concerto in a special concert with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra under David Hill at the Light House in Poole, UK.

On 11 June Simone Lamsma performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto with the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra under Lan Shui in Santa Cruz, Tenerife. She was invited by the orchestra just 2 days before the concert date to replace the originally scheduled soloist.
Simone Lamsma replaces Vadim Repin April 2010
On 18 April Simone Lamsma gave her Brazilian recital debut with pianist Valentina Lisitsa at very short notice, replacing Vadim Repin and Itamar Golan, who were the originally scheduled artists. The recital took place in the prestigious Sala Cecilia Mereiles in Rio de Janeiro, and received an overwhelming response from the audience.
In 2011 Simone will be returning to Brazil to perform in São Paulo with the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra under Yan Pascal Tortelier.
Documentary April 2010
On Sunday 18 April 2010 at 13.00 a 40-minute documentary about Simone Lamsma will be broadcast on Dutch National television station Nederland 2. The documentary includes footage of rehearsals and concerts with the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden, a visit to London, and interviews with Simone and others. The documentary was made by the NPS and will be broadcasted in the programme NPS Podium.
Further to the broadcast of the documentary, NPS Television will repeat the broadcast of last 7 December 2009, in which Simone Lamsma performs Shostakovich Concerto no. 1 with the Dutch Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under maestro Jaap van Zweden. This broadcast will take place on Monday evening 19 April 2010 on Dutch National television station Nederland 2 at 23.30.

After a hugely successful month of concerts with the Royal Flemish Philharmonic under Paul Watkins and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden performing Britten’s Violin Concerto, Simone Lamsma will now bring this stunning concerto to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, performing with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest under Jaap van Zweden during the Matinee series on Saturday 6 March.
This concert will be broadcast live on Dutch classical music station Radio 4 on 6 March from 13.00 (Dutch time) and will be repeated on Tuesday 9 March at 20.02 (Dutch time).

TV Broadcast November 2009
In October Simone Lamsma performed Shostakovich First Violin Concerto with the Radio Filharmonisch Orkest under Jaap van Zweden, to great critical acclaim. This concert was part of the ‘Vrijdag van Vredenburg’ concert series in Utrecht, Netherlands.
The performance was recorded by Dutch national television for broadcast on7 December at 23.40 (Dutch time) in the programme NPS Podium on Nederland 2.
On Sunday 8 November at 14.00 (Dutch time), the concert given last Friday (6 November) with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra under Yannick Nézet-Séguin will be broadcast on Dutch Classical Music Station ‘Radio 4’. This concert was the opening of the Dutch Classical Music Week 2009.
On Friday 30 October (at 20.15 Dutch time) and Sunday 1 November (at 11.00 Dutch time) Simone Lamsma will be performing Shostakovich Violin Concerto no.1 with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra under Jaap van Zweden. “The top six winners of International Violin Competition (Qingdao) were announced and awarded in Qingdao Great Hall of People this Wednesday after three rounds of fierce competition. The Netherlands girl, Hilde Simone Lamsma, from Royal Academy of Music, UK won the first prize. The competition witnesses great progress in the level of violin playing in China.
